Our team is committed to giving back — from sponsoring Waikato Rugby and the Never Surrender Boxing Gym in Thames (home to super middleweight champ Francis Waitai), to backing the Waikato Rugby Junior Club March Past 2025, all of Ngatea’s rugby league teams, a local kickboxing group, and the Tieke Golf Estate Nine Hole Ladies. We’re also proud supporters of the Paeroa Community Support Trust.

This year, Waikato Sheds proudly sponsored jersey number 20 — a special number for us, as we’re celebrating 20 years in business. It’s been a fantastic season, and we’re grateful to be part of a team and community that represents the strength and spirit of the Waikato. Supporting local rugby isn’t just about the game; it’s about backing the people and pride that make this region home.
Waikato Rugby Junior Club March Past 2025
Each year, the Waikato Rugby Junior Club March Past 2025 brings together the heart of grassroots rugby — and this year was no different. Over 1,500 kids braved the rain at FMG Stadium Waikato, filling the stands and field with colour, energy, and true Mooloo spirit. Waikato Sheds was proud to sponsor this incredible day, celebrating the future legends of the game.
We loved seeing the junior clubs out in force, high fives all round, and the passion of the Mooloo faithful. With the support of our amazing suppliers — Colorsteel, Bayonet, Metalcraft Roofing, PKF, Delfast, and Axis Steel — we helped load up the kids with prizes, beanies, bags, and more.
For us, it’s about more than just rugby. It’s about community, connection, and supporting the next generation as they walk the same turf as their heroes.
Never Surrender Boxing Gym & Champ Francis Waitai
Our relationship with Never Surrender Boxing Gym began years ago with a simple post on Facebook — and grew into something much bigger. What started as a visit to an old, run-down gym at the racecourse has become a long-standing partnership built on shared values: grit, perseverance, and community.
Back then, the gym’s building was literally falling apart — the floors were uneven, there were holes everywhere, and even Francis Waitai, now the super middleweight champion of New Zealand, had to dodge hazards while training. But the passion inside those four walls was undeniable. The team at Never Surrender were running kids’ classes for free, relying on donations to keep the doors open.
That’s when we stepped in. In our early days as a growing company, we wrote a cheque for $5,000 to help the club formalise, secure not-for-profit status, and raise further funds. That support helped them move from the condemned racecourse building to a proper gym on Pollen Street — and now, to their latest, even bigger and better location.
Francis’s journey mirrors the spirit of the gym itself: relentless work ethic, quiet strength, and dedication to both family and sport. He’s trained hard while raising his kids and working full-time, becoming a national champion, winning the Australasian title, and representing New Zealand on the international stage.

Ngā Tama Toa Muay Thai Club
This year, Waikato Sheds proudly supported the Ngā Tama Toa Muay Thai Club by helping send three incredible young men overseas to represent Aotearoa New Zealand in England and Italy.
Our contribution helped make this dream trip a reality — not just as a sporting opportunity, but as a life-changing experience. These boys are stepping onto the world stage, testing themselves against international competition, and carrying the mana of their community with them.
This journey isn’t just about the fights ahead. It’s about showing what can happen when a community backs its tamariki. As their thank-you letter shared, every dollar raised and every show of support brought them closer to making this moment possible. We’re proud to stand behind them and watch their story unfold on the world stage.

Tieke Golf Estate
We’re proud to support local sports and community initiatives across the Waikato. Recently, Waikato Sheds sponsored the Double Spring Fling tournament hosted by the Tieke Golf Estate Nine Hole Ladies. The event was a great success with strong participation and community spirit.
We believe in backing local clubs and events that bring people together and strengthen community ties. This sponsorship is one of many ways we’re giving back to the region we’re proud to call home.
Tahuna Primary School Court Cover
The Tahuna School court cover stands as a true community achievement — a project that brought together local families, sponsors, trades, and Waikato Sheds to create a sheltered space for the next generation to learn and play, whatever the weather.
For years, Tahuna School had dreamed of a covered court. After finding the right partner in Waikato Sheds, that dream became reality within six months. Built on solid concrete foundations with a durable box-beam frame and clear roofing, the structure now provides more than 700 square metres of safe, weatherproof space for sport, assemblies, and community gatherings.
More than a build, it was a collaboration. Waikato Sheds worked closely with the Board of Trustees and school team to refine the design and ensure it would stand up to Waikato’s conditions while remaining low-maintenance. Safety was a top priority, with students eagerly watching the progress behind the fencing each day.
When the cover officially opened, the whole community turned out to celebrate. Kids raced under the new roof, families shared food, and pride filled the air. As one trustee said, “It took us about four years to find the right partner — and once we did, it was up in six months. We’re over the moon.”
The new cover has already become a cornerstone of daily life at the school — a space that keeps tamariki active in any weather and brings the wider community together.
Waikato Sheds GM Jason thanked the many people and organisations who made it possible — from the New Zealand Community Trust, U.A. Trust, Industrial Tube, and the Ministry of Education, to the Friends of the School and local businesses that rallied behind the project.
“The whole community can be proud of this,” Jason said. “It’s strong, it’s tidy, and it’s going to be here for generations of kids to enjoy. Great sheds done right.”
